New Light Adjustable Lens Study for Cataracts

Ophthalmologists annually perform approximately 3 million cataract procedures in the US. More than 50% of these eyes need spectacle correction after surgery for optimal distance vision. Thanks largely to the growing number of individuals who have undergone successful LASIK surgery, patients now have higher expectations than ever for their vision after cataract extraction and lens implantation. The Light-Adjustable Lens (LAL) by Calhoun Vision has the potential to provide patients with clear distance acuity without eyeglasses.

Light Adjustable Lens Cataract Procedure

Maloney Vision Institute is one of four centers in the United States participating in a research study of the Light-Adjustable Lens Treatment for Cataracts. The Light-Adjustable Lens can be adjusted non-invasively after surgery using only light. The goal is to give you perfect vision without glasses.
